Important Update: FTC Final Rule on Noncompete Clauses

On April 23, 2024, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a final rule banning noncompete clauses in certain employment contracts as an unfair method of competition. This rule is limited to postemployment restraints (i.e. restrictions on what the worker may do after the conclusion of the worker’s employment) and does not apply to in-term restraints (i.e. restrictions on what the worker may do during the worker’s employment). New York Courts Announce Additional Re-Opening Measures for the Filing of Eviction Proceedings

On June 18, 2020 Chief Administrative Judge Marks issued a memorandum advising that, effective June 20, 2020, the moratorium on filing commercial and residential eviction proceedings is coming to an end, though restrictions remain on proceedings against tenants affected by COVID-19. Read More >
