Over the years, Cuddy & Feder has assembled its team of professionals in various ways. Our summer associate program is offered to law students who have completed their second year of law school. Closely modeled on the firm’s associate training program, the summer associate experience affords an opportunity to work closely with a core group of attorneys from a broad cross-section of the firm’s practice areas. Our lawyers find a collegial work environment, and one that fosters collaboration among attorneys and clients to ensure the best client experience.

Summer Associate Program

Each summer, Cuddy & Feder LLP provides law students with the opportunity to experience the practice of law at our Firm. The Summer Associate Program is open to highly motivated students that have completed two years of coursework. Typically, two or three law students are chosen to work at the firm each summer.

Participation in the program is a great first step towards becoming an attorney after graduating law school because the primary goal of the summer associate program at Cuddy & Feder is to give selected law school students a realistic law firm experience. Our summer associates have the opportunity to work in multiple practice areas while working with attorneys ranging from our most senior partner to our most junior associate.

Our Summer associates typically receive assignments that a first-year associate would work on and, therefore, they experience the demands, challenges and rewards of being a young lawyer.

A dedicated partner and a senior associate serve as mentors to the summer associates throughout the summer to ensure that the summer associates receive meaningful assignments and to provide guidance on how best to navigate the challenges of law firm life – time management, prioritizing, interactions with clients and opposing counsel, etc. Notwithstanding, we strongly encourage our summer associates to work directly with the attorney assigning a matter to them in this way our summer associates learn directly from multiple attorneys. We foster an environment that offers as much feedback as possible in order for each summer associate to maximize their learning and ensure a valuable experience at Cuddy & Feder.

We plan many social and networking activities throughout the summer between the attorneys and summer associates such as a summer outing, various dinners, practice group lunches, happy hours, and softball games. Our goal each year is for our summer associates to have a valuable learning experience.
