Cuddy & Feder LLP was honored to support the 25th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Youth Awards, hosted by the African American Men of Westchester (AAMW) on MLK Day. This year’s event celebrated the spirit of Dr. King by recognizing nearly a dozen outstanding young leaders in Westchester County for their commitment to community service.
Covered by News12 Westchester, this milestone event was attended by approximately 500 guests, and brought together community members, elected officials, and local leaders and businesses to honor these students. Eleven students received awards along with a $2,500 prize this year for a total of $27,500. Honorees were recognized in several categories, including Building Bridges, Social Action, Spirit of Love and others.
Event organizer and emcee, Eon S. Nichols, Partner in the Real Estate, Corporate, Finance, and Non-Profit groups at Cuddy & Feder, captured the spirit of the event, saying: “We’re celebrating them, celebrating Dr. King, and celebrating our community… You remember this day, but you look to the future. And that’s where the kids come in.”
The Legacy Youth Awards Program provides a rare opportunity to celebrate community service at the same level as academic achievement, reinforcing the values of leadership, service, and civic engagement. The event has become a cornerstone celebration in Westchester County, continuing AAMW’s mission of fostering positive change in the community through service and recognition.
Cuddy & Feder is proud to support AAMW and its initiatives that empower young leaders and uphold the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
