The Spring 2025 Dealmakers Lunch, held on May 9 at Harrison Meadows Country Club, was featured in the Summer 2025 issue of Connecticut Builder Magazine. The program focused on how moratoriums are being used by municipalities to regulate development and was led by Anthony B. Gioffre III, Managing Partner at Cuddy & Feder LLP, and planner Pat Cleary founder of Cleary Consulting.
The event, titled “Moratoriums – Zoning Tools for Communities to Manage Development or the New NIMBY?”, brought together elected officials, planners, and real estate professionals to examine the legal and planning implications of temporary zoning freezes on much needed development in the region. Anthony offered legal insights on how moratoriums impact development timelines, housing availability, and municipal decision-making, while also addressing the importance of balancing community concerns with the region’s ongoing need for growth and infrastructure.
Hosted by the Dealmakers series, coordinated by Michel Murphy of Murphy Brothers Contracting and John Barrett of RM Friedland, the bi-monthly luncheon continues to be a valuable platform for candid conversations around real estate and land use trends in Westchester and the Hudson Valley.
