We are pleased to announce that Joseph Carlucci will be a recipient of the Westchester County Business Journal’s Above the Bar Award in the category of Most Socially Conscious Attorney.

Mr. Carlucci and four other leading Westchester attorneys will be honored at an event on June 8 at Whitby Castle in Rye, NY. Anthony Scarpino, Westchester District Attorney, will be the keynote speaker. Past Above the Bar recipients from Cuddy & Feder have included Robert Feder, Eon Nichols, Neil Rimsky, William Null and Lucia Chiocchio.

“We are proud to see Joe’s commitment to Westchester County recognized in this way,” said Chris Fisher, the firm’s managing partner. “Cuddy & Feder has a long tradition of giving back to the local community, and we intend to continue doing so, following the example of leaders such as Joe.”

Mr. Carlucci has been actively involved in bettering the Westchester community for decades, primarily in the area of education. In addition to having served as a member of the Pace Law School Board of Visitors, he is a member of the Mercy College Board of Trustees, serving as Vice Chairman, and is also Director and Vice President of the Westchester Community College Foundation. He has been recognized for his many volunteer activities by the Andrus Children’s Center and has also served on the Advisory Board of Student Assistance Services, a non-profit school-based substance abuse counseling agency, after serving on its Board of Directors for many years.

He has been on the boards of, and volunteered for, numerous local organizations, such as the Jacob Burns Film Center, for which he had done its bond financing for its building in Pleasantville, the Hundred Club of Westchester, Inc., Westchester Partnership for Economic Development, March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, Westchester Division, and the Volunteer Center of United Way of Westchester County. He has also served as trustee for the Mill-Land Conservation Trust and the Westchester Arts Council.

Early in Mr. Carlucci’s career, he served on the Board of Trustees of the Village of Port Chester and later became a very active volunteer in the City of Rye, where he had lived for much of his adult life. He was named Rye YMCA Man of the Year for his efforts on behalf of that organization and is a Rye Rotary Club Community Service Award Recipient. He was president of the Rye Historical Society and also served on the board of Sustainable Playland – a nonprofit organization that sought to rebuild Rye’s Playland while bettering the community as a whole.
