As Co-Chair of the Business Council of Westchester’s Clean Energy Action Coalition (CEAC) Model Local Law Committee, Anthony B. Gioffre III joined fellow presenters in addressing the Westchester County Board of Legislators Parks & Environment Committee on August 13. The presentation highlighted the region’s growing energy demands, the challenges of meeting New York State’s climate goals, and actionable steps to ensure energy reliability and resiliency.
Key topics included streamlining local laws, implementing educational efforts to address misinformation, lifting moratoria to accelerate solar and battery energy storage projects, and advancing immediate measures to reduce carbon and particulate emissions. The discussion explored both long-term solutions and short-term strategies to bridge the gap toward a cleaner, more resilient energy future for Westchester.
