Westfair Business Journal recently reported on plans by The Padel Club LLC to convert the Cooney Building at 41 Hudson View Way in Tarrytown into a new recreational facility featuring indoor and outdoor padel courts.
The proposed adaptive reuse of the 26,872-square-foot building at Hudson Harbor would include six padel courts, four indoors and two outdoors, along with wellness and fitness facilities, a lounge, and 58 at-grade parking spaces. Plans also include exterior renovations, pedestrian improvements, and a new stormwater management system.
Cuddy + Feder Managing Partner Anthony Gioffre is part of the development team for the project. In discussing the proposal with Westfair Business Journal, Tony highlighted the adaptive reuse of the existing building, planned pedestrian improvements, and the anticipated reductions in traffic, parking, and impervious surfaces.
“The proposed adaptive re-use will help revitalize the existing Cooney Building and incorporate a new community-friendly asset to the village’s attractive waterfront area,” Tony told Westfair Business Journal.
The proposal would bring a new use to a building that has been part of the Hudson Harbor redevelopment for many years and previously served as office space for Tappan Zee Constructors during construction of the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.
