One of Beacon’s historic Main Street landmarks will be preserved and adapted for new uses following Planning Board approval for the redevelopment of the Telephone Building at 291 Main Street.
The project, proposed by Cuddy + Feder client Telephone Building Beacon LLC, preserves the historic structure while adding a compatible three-story mixed-use addition featuring ground-floor commercial space and four residential apartments. Representing the applicant, Cuddy + Feder attorneys Taylor Palmer and Jessica Zalin guided the application through the City’s approval process, obtaining site plan approval and a certificate of appropriateness after the Planning Board found the proposal consistent with Beacon’s zoning, historic preservation standards and development goals.
The redevelopment demonstrates how thoughtful planning can preserve Beacon’s architectural heritage while supporting continued investment along Main Street.
